So, What happens next?

The Vision Wave Weddings Experience

First and foremost, a heartfelt congratulations on taking the exciting step towards forever together! I am overjoyed to be a part of your love story, and honoured that you’ve chosen Vision Wave Weddings to capture the beautiful moments of your wedding day.

As you embark on this incredible journey, I am here to guide you through the next steps and ensure that your wedding videography experience is nothing short of magical.

Between Now and the Wedding Day

Your dream day is officially in the books! Depending on how far in advance you secured your wedding film, there might be a quiet period before the whirlwind begins. Most couples, entrusting me with their special day, secure their dates anywhere from 6-24 months ahead, but worry not – your spot is securely reserved in my diary.

As stipulated in your contract, your final balance payment is due a month before the wedding. Around that time, I’ll reach out with a friendly reminder email, and a link to your invoice. Simultaneously, I’ll send you a Final Information form, a key piece in our journey together. This form covers everything essential for creating your cinematic masterpiece – from the schedule of the day, to the confirmation of locations, and of course, your handpicked Feature Film music choices.

Stay tuned for this exciting chapter! If any questions arise in the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to make your wedding film experience as seamless and enchanting as your love story.

Stay connected with my latest films, sneak peeks, and updates by following me on social media.

When is the final payment due?

Your final payment is due a month before the wedding. You can spread out this cost if you’d like, as long as the final balance is cleared a month before the wedding day.

Do we need to have a meeting or phone call?

Planning a wedding is hectic, so I like to keep things simple. I do not require a meeting with you beforehand. However, I understand that some couples feel more comfortable with a meeting. So if that’s the case just click the “Book a Chat” button below.

Do you need to visit the church, or venue before the wedding?

It isn’t necessary for me to visit venues and churches prior to the wedding day. I do however, scope the venues or churches out online. Part of being a professional wedding videographer is being flexible, and confident, enough to be able to arrive on the day and get exactly what I need.

Can we choose our own music for the films?

I will get in touch about a month before the wedding to ask for your music choices for your film. These choices can only be used for the full length feature film of your day. Due to copyright issues it’s not possible to use these music choices on your highlight film. Instead for this film I will handpick a perfect song for you!

Any wedding videographers that do use popular music, such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars or Christina Perri in their online wedding films is usually doing so illegally. I always license music from professional artists that make amazing music specifically for weddings. From this choice of music I pick a song that will make your wedding film unique.

For more information about making choices for your music click here to visit my help guide

How many song choices do you need?

I typically request a selection of 7-10 songs for the Feature Film, ensuring a diverse range to enhance the cinematic experience.

Can I add extras onto our film package?

Absolutely! I have a range of a la carté options available. You can add on bride or groom preparatons, additional filming, or a second videographer. If you have anything else in mind just let me know.

Can you recommend any other suppliers?

Yes, more than happy to recommend some suppliers to you. Just pop me an email if there are any recommendations you’d like.

Pre-Wedding Chat

A few weeks, to a month, before your wedding is the ideal time to book in a chat if there’s anything you’d like to go through. This isn’t essential, as I’m still able to capture your day without a chat, but it can be handy if there’s anything you feel you’d like to go over.

The Wedding Day

Before your special day, I’ll finalise my arrival time and outline the specific locations where I’ll be needed throughout the wedding day. Even during those moment when you might not be aware of my presence, don’t worry – I’ll be there, capturing all the details, subtly as your day gracefully unfolds.

I will be working towards the timings provided in your Final Information form, which is why it’s vital that this has been filled in accurately. Believe it, or not, but I have had past experiences where this information has been provided to me incorrectly – which can then lead to a whole host of issues.

What time do you arrive?

On the wedding day I will arrive at your ceremony location approximately 90 minutes before the ceremony start time.

If you have opted to have bridal preparations captured I will be with you about two and a half hours before the ceremony begins. The amount of time I’m able to spend with you for bridal preparations depends on how long the journey is between your prep and ceremony locations.

What time do you leave?

I will be with you until you’ve finished your first dance, providing the first dance occurs before 9pm. Additional filming hours can be added on if required.

Will you film Bridal Preparations?

If not already selected, the filming of bridal preparations can be added to your package, for an additional cost.

Will you be able to get drone footage?

Depending on location restrictions, and the weather, I do my best to get some drone footage for every wedding.

After the Wedding

While you embark on your honeymoon, I’ll be immersed in crafting your wedding film. Typically, I ensure the delivery of films within three months of the wedding day, but more often than not, they are ready in half that time.

Should you be open to sharing your wedding online, I can create some beautiful sneak peeks  on my social media channels, providing a delightful preview while you eagerly await the completion of your finished films.

When your films are finished your first glimpse will be a link to your Highlight Film, accessible through a private link. Once you’ve had the chance to view it I will set it live across Facebook and Instagram where you’ll be able to easily share it with your family and friends. Subsequently, I’ll be refining your Feature Film and preparing it for online delivery, which will follow shortly after.

When do we receive our films?

I aim to deliver all films within three months of the wedding. Usually much sooner, depending on time of year.

How will we receive our films?

First you’ll get a link to watch your Highlight Film, which you are also able to share with family and friends. Once you’ve seen that I’ll then get your Feature Film and Highlight Film uploaded to your online gallery.

Why aren't our music choices in the Highlight Film?

As outlined prior to booking, in your contract, and in your Final Information form it is illegal and against copyright laws to use popular music for the highlight films. These choices can only be used for the full length feature film of your day.

Can we have the RAW Footage?

RAW Footage is what is says on the tin, completely raw unedited footage from the wedding day. This can be purchased as an add on for an additional cost.

Any Questions?
