August was a super busy time for weddings and I had the pleasure of capturing so many beautiful days. One of the fantastic weddings I captured was the wedding of Emma and Joe. The couple celebrated at Tern Hill Hall in Market Drayton, Shropshire. Such a charming place, it’s refreshing to come back to Tern Hill Hall, it is a wonderful place for such a wedding.

It was an honour for friends and family to witness Emma and Joe’s wedding ceremony at Our Lady & St Werburgh’s church in Clayton, Newcastle Under Lyme. I arrived shortly ahead of the groom so I could get some shots in and around the church. It was SO HOT! The sun was blistering, but it was lovely to be stood outside enjoying the weather, on yet another sunny 2018 wedding. This year has been lucky so far in terms of sunny weddings – I think all of mine have been sunny (hopefully that doesn’t change any time soon).

Soon after my arrival Joe and his groomsmen made their way across to the church from The Gatehouse pub, just over the road. Joe enjoyed greeting his guests who were mingling inside and outside of the church. The ceremony itself was lovely and very nice and personal to Emma, Joe and their families. Once the ceremony was finished Emma and Joe spent some time greeting their guests outside. Shortly after the ceremony Emma, Joe and all of their guests travelled over to Tern Hill Hall, in Market Drayton, Shropshire.

After arriving at Tern Hill Hall, guests headed straight outside to enjoy some entertainment and the glorious sunny weather. I was drifting among the guests to take the best shots and witness the stories unfold as the hours go by.

There’s some real advantages to getting married in Summer, as long as the weather is kind! Emma and Joe were lucky to have a sunny day, which was a blessing, and it helped make the videos nice and bold.

Emma, Joe and their guests sat and enjoyed a delicious three course dinner, whilst waiting for one of my favourite parts of the day – the speeches! Emma’s dad’s speech was absolutely lovely, and I don’t think there was a dry eye at some points. This was followed by an equally lovely speech by Joe (I always love a good grooms speech), and the best man’s speech was hysterical – we were even treated to some fantastic old voice recordings of Joe as a young kid.

After the speeches it was time for the guests to head back outside and soak up some more of the glorious British sunshine, shortly after being joined by the evening guests.

I had an absolutely fantastic day with Emma and Joe, and all of their family and friends.
