Rachel & Grant’s North Wales Wedding
Rachel and Grant booked me after they met me at Laura and Stuart’s wedding back in 2021. It is always such a pleasure to be booked by couples who have seen me at previous weddings. They decided to add bridal preparations onto the package, so in the morning I headed over to Rachel’s, to film her and the girls getting ready.
Everyone was pretty relaxed, and enjoying the morning! I always enjoy capturing bridal preparations, as they feel like the perfect way to begin a wedding film. It was soon time for me to make my way to the church, which was just a short drive away.
St Margaret’s Church Bodelwyddan Wedding Ceremony
I’ve driven past this church many, many times, on day trips up to Surf Snowdonia. It really is a beautiful church. So when Rachel and Grant told me that their ceremony was here I was absolutely thrilled. Constructed from marble in the 1800’s the church is simply stunning. When I arrived I grabbed a quick drone shot. Unfortunately I only had a small window of opportunity as it was quite breezy. I use a special weather app and that gives me the green light to fly or not, and I literally had a five minute window!
Guests soon began to arrive, along with Grant and his groomsmen. By this point it was pretty much time to get Grant mic’d up ready for the ceremony, so I made sure that was done, before concentrating on some shots of arriving guests.
It was soon time for Rachel’s arrival. She arrived in her very own vintage green van. Rachel looked absolutely beautiful as she walked with her dad down the church path, and into the church.
DIY Farm Wedding Reception
Once the ceremony was over and the register signed, everyone made their way outside the church. As Rachel and Grant walked away from the church the guests made sure to absolutely cover them with confetti. After some family portraits it was time to head back over to the farm for the drinks reception.
The marquee was nestled in a field, surrounded by huge trees. It was a perfect spot for a DIY farm wedding. Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks, as well as live music from Billy Bobby (of Catfish and the Bottlemen).
