The Ashes Endon Wedding Videography
It was a beautiful winter morning, in February 2020, and finally the wedding day for Laura and Oliver. Laura and Oliver booked my Tier Three package, which meant I’d be there from the ceremony until the first dance.
Since Vision Wave Weddings is based in Congleton, Cheshire, it means I’m only about 20 minutes away from The Ashes. It’s a very local wedding venue, and one I’m very familiar with. I’ve filmed a bunch of weddings at The Ashes since 2013.
The first thing I do when I arrive at The Ashes is get a nice venue shot as soon as I pull onto the driveway. When I’ve got that I had down to the carpark and get the car unloaded. I spent some time getting some film shots around the venue. Being sure to capture all of the details that Laura and Oliver had planned.
It was soon time for the guests to arrive, shortly followed by the man of the day, Oliver. I film the guests as they started to arrive, and make their way into the wedding barn for the ceremony.
Wedding Ceremonies at The Ashes Endon
The ceremony is of course the most important part of the day. Laura looked absolutely radiant as she walked down the aisle to meet and excited, but nervous, Oliver. We were treated to a beautiful reading duding the ceremony, I always love when a friend or family member does a reading.
After saying their vows, and exchanging rings, it was official, Laura and Oliver were husband and wife. They did the legal stuff and signed the register. Then it was time for them to enjoy some drinks and spend some time with their wonderful family and friends.
Drinks Receptions at The Ashes Endon
Laura and Oliver mingled with their guests for a little while. It was a bit chilly and drizzly, so most of the guests were tucked up inside the wedding barn.
I had the absolute pleasure of working alongside the wonderful Gary Skerratt Photography. During the drinks reception we were able to capture some lovely family shots. We even got some smoke bomb footage, with Laura and Oliver with their bridal party.
One of my personal favourite parts of the day is the couples portraits. Gary and I whisked Laura and Oliver off for some beautiful portraits. Gary taking the photos, and me capturing the process on video.
The Ashes has lots of great backdrops to play with, giving a wonderful variety of shots. It also looks beautiful in any season, no matter the weather.
Speeches at The Ashes Endon
It was soon time to give Laura and Oliver back to the guests, as they headed in for their wedding breakfast. The Ashes always do a fantastic wedding breakfast!
After the everyone enjoy a delicious meal it was time for the speeches. The speeches are another of my favourite parts of the day. I often use snippets of the speeches for the basis of the highlight film. They really help to tell the story of the bride and groom, how they met etc. It’s absolutely lovely.
Evening Reception at The Ashes Endon
After the speeches wrapped up the guests were able to relax, and Laura and Oliver spent time with them.
Before long it was time for Laura and Oliver to cut their cake and get their dance on!
I had an absolutely fantastic day with Laura and Oliver, capturing their wedding at The Ashes.
