My final wedding of 2018 couldn’t have been any later in the year – on New Years Eve I joined Kirsty and Alex for their wedding at Weston Hall. I always find the post-Christmas period a little bit awkward, you’ve had the exciting build up to Christmas, and then it’s all over in one day (or two if you count Boxing Day!) I like to have a wedding to look forward to after Christmas, and a New Years Eve wedding is even better.

The day started off with me heading over to meet Kirsty and her bridesmaids, and capture their getting ready.

It was soon time for me to make my way over the St Mary’s and St Chads ahead of Alex’s arrival for the ceremony. The guests soon started to arrive, and everyone looked lovely in their wintery wedding attire! After the ceremony we braved the brisk winter air for some photographs outside.

We then set off on our way to Weston Hall, a Staffordshire wedding venue on the outskirts of Stafford. Upon arrival the guests were ushered into one of the beautiful, warm, rooms and were offered a variety of drinks. I spent my time capturing Kirsty, Alex and their guests relaxing, chatting and generally having fun.

After a lovely drinks reception it was time for the guests to head down to the beautifully decorated wedding breakfast room for a delicious three course dinner. And then, after the meal it was time for my favourite part of the day – the speeches! The speeches are always a privilege to capture, as they quite often contain some quite personal, touching moments.

Kirsty and Alex had a wonderful day, and it was an honour to capture.
