Standon Hall Wedding

Jessica & James’ Standon Hall Wedding

As with most weddings this year Jessica and James was a rollercoaster. Not only were Jessica and James faced with postponing their wedding, but then their original venue closed down. So, Jessica and James had to choose a whole new venue. Thankfully, they were able to book a date with the new venue Standon Hall. Jessica and James were the second wedding to take place at Standon Hall, so it was a very exciting day all around.

Nestled in the Staffordshire countryside, Standon Hall is a stunning early 20th century mansion. It’s newly opened for 2021 and I’m looking forward to capturing many weddings there over the years.

I arrived a few hours ahead of the ceremony time and began capturing some footage in and around the venue. Unfortunately, despite being the middle of August, it was raining. But that’s not so much of a problem at a venue like Standon Hall; the indoor space is huge so there’s plenty of room for guests to enjoy.

Standon Hall Wedding Ceremony

James and his groomsmen were relaxing in the men’s room. It’s a perfect spot for the guys to spend their time in the morning, it even has a pool table. Kate Hollingsworth, their photographer, and I met with the guys to grab a few shots of them. I absolutely love working with Kate, she is genuinely one of my favourite wedding photographers!

The guests soon began to arrive and they were welcomed into the venue by James and his groomsmen. It was then time for everyone to take their seats for the ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, with a number of lovely readings, perfectly chosen for the day. It was a pleasure to capture the moment Jessica and James became husband and wife.

Standon Hall Wedding Reception

After a lovely ceremony it was time for the reception to begin! Everyone enjoyed welcome drinks, and relaxed making the most of the beautiful venue. We got a small break in the rain and were able to quickly gather everyone up for a group shot. As well as a few portraits of the bride and groom. Success!

It was then time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. After a delicious three course meal, it was then the speeches. The three speakers all did a fantastic job. The best man’s speech was probably one of the best, best man speeches I’ve heard in a long time. It was well delivered, and hilarious. James’ speech was heartfelt, but also funny, he did a wonderful job.

A massive thank you and congratulations to Jessica and James! They put together and wonderful day, and I know they’ll have a fantastic life together.
