Rowton Castle Wedding
It was an absolute pleasure shooting the wedding of Emma and Andrew, at the start of 2020. My first wedding of the year, and one of my only ‘normal’ weddings of 2020, since Covid-19 began.
Rowton Castle, located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is one of my favourite wedding venues, and it’s a perfect choice!
All wedding stories begin with bridal prep and Emma’s story started at Rowton Castle. I arrived in the morning, as Emma and her lovely bridesmaids were having their hair and make up done. I popped between the girls, and the boys, as I captured all of their morning preparations. Bride and groom preparations are always a really lovely way to start the day. It allows me to capture those pre-ceremony nerves.
Rowton Castle Wedding Ceremony
Emma and Andy cemented their union in a very lovely ceremony at Rowton Castle. Emma’s best friend wrote a beautiful poem, which she read out during the ceremony. It told the story of how they met, and it was so heartwarming, and beautiful. I love poems that have been specially written for the wonderful couples. I used this poem to tell the story of them in their highlight film.
Rowton Castle Wedding Reception
After the ceremony Emma, Andy and the guests enjoy the reception drinks. I was still on the lookout to catch spectacular moments on camera. We took them outside to enjoy the gardens, whilst the photographer captured some stunning photographs. One of my favourite parts of the day is when the photographer and I get to steal the bride and groom away for couples portraits. While the photographer takes their photographs, I’m able to move around the bride and groom and get a nice variety of video portraits. It was soon time to get Emma and Andy back to their guests, ready for their wedding breakfast and speeches.
The speeches are another of my favourite parts of the day, they often have me laughing and crying. Andy’s speech was beautiful, there was not a dry eye in the room, and Emma also gave a speech too. I’ve got to applaud bride’s who decide to do speeches!
After speeches we were treated to an amazing performance from singing waiters – always amazing!
I had a fantastic day capturing the wedding of Emma & Andy, it was a pleasure to be a part of their day and I wish them the most amazing future together.
