Cat & Tom’s Cherwell Boathouse Wedding

Cat and Tom booked me after meeting me at a wedding I filmed a few years ago, where Tom had been the best man. It was lovely to catch up with them, as well as see my past couple Megan and Ian. It’s always an honour to be booked by a couple who have seen my work from a previous wedding. 

Anyway, Cat and Tom had chosen to have their day at Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford. I had quite an early start to the day, my earliest of 2022, and met with Cat for her bridal preparations. The girls were relaxed and enjoying some girly pampering as they were getting ready. 

After a couple of hours I made my way over to Cherwell Boathouse for the ceremony.

Cherwell Boathouse offers a number of ceremony locations, and Cat and Tom had opted to have theirs in the Lower Boathouse. This was probably one of the most unique wedding venues I’d been to, and I really enjoyed it.

The ceremony was conducted by a friend of the bride and groom, which made it all the more special. We also had a reading from Tom’s little sister, and one from a bridesmaid. All special little touches that make a ceremony more perfect. It was a pleasure to see Cat and Tom tie the knot.

After the ceremony the guests headed outside, into the blazing sunshine, where they enjoyed drinks and canapés. One of the coolest things about Cherwell Boathouse is that the guests are able to go out on punts, which they all really enjoyed. We even got to go out on a punt with the bride and groom, where we went looking for some portrait locations. It was so much fun!

The weather was scorching, which was pretty great. I’d much rather have a hot wedding, than a wet one, personally. Although I was basically cooking at one point. I definitely need to invest in some better warm weather outfits – anyone think shorts would be ok?
