Bethan & Sam’s Sweeney Hotel Wedding
My second wedding of a busy week was the wedding of Bethan and Sam, over at The Sweeney Hotel nestled in the Shropshire countryside. Having never been to The Sweeney Hotel before the first thing I did was have a little look around the venue, finding interesting details to capture.
Then I got the drone out – I got some incredible shots of the venue, with the rolling hills in the background. The venue really does have one of the best outlooks I’ve seen.
Sam soon arrived, followed by the guests, and he spent time greeting everyone and welcoming them into the ceremony room.
The Sweeney Hotel Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony spot that Bethan and Sam chose was absolutely incredible. Easily one of my favourite ceremony locations, ever! It’s a rustic barn, but the walls are painted white, which I’ve not seen at other wedding venues. There are a number of different ceremony options at The Sweeney Hotel, but this one is definitely my favourite.
The guests took their seats, and Sam stood at the front, awaiting the arrival of Bethan. Bethan looked incredible, she was walked down the aisle by her dad, and given away to a very lucky Sam.
Sam’s family are Welsh so the ceremony had some special touches of a reading in Welsh. And Sam’s dad and relatives sung in Welsh during the signing of the register.
The Sweeney Hotel Wedding Reception
Once the formalities were over it was time to head back into the blazing sun and enjoy the wedding reception. Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés and I spent my time capturing as much of the guests as I could.
As the reception was drawing to a close Sally Joanne and I took Bethan and Sam off for some couples portraits. The Sweeney Hotel has extensive grounds to make use of for portraits. This resulted in one of my favourite portraits sessions of the 2022 wedding season. Bethan and Sam are a lovely couple, and their love for each other radiates.
Once we’d gotten a nice variety of couples portraits it was time for the speeches. The speech location was unique, it was outdoors, but in a poly tunnel. I really liked the set up, and it matched with Bethan and Sam’s theming so well. We were treated to five speeches, and each one was emotional, and lovely. It’s clear to see than Bethan and Sam are so loved by all of their family and friends!
