Anna & Glenn’s Didsbury House Hotel Wedding
Anna and Glenn booked me to capture their wedding at Didsbury House Hotel, in Manchester. I’d never been to a wedding at Didsbury before, so I was quite excited for the day.
I arrived at Didsbury House Hotel a couple of hours before the ceremony start time. Didsbury House is a Victorian Townhouse, situated just south of Manchester. Being based in Congleton means I’m only about 25 minutes away, so it’s a nice and local venue for me. The forecast was due to rain so I quickly captured some exterior shots of the venue, before heading inside.
Anna was already at Didsbury House, getting ready, and Glenn arrived a short time after me.
Didsbury House Hotel Wedding Ceremony
Anna and Glenn’s guests soon began to arrive, and after enjoying a quick drink in the garden area they took their seats for the ceremony. The ceremony room is a nice, intimate space, with the bride and groom stood in front of a beautiful bay window. Anna and Glenn shared vows, and exchanged rings, and were officially husband and wife! It was amazing to see Anna and Glenn tie the knot.
They made their way out of the ceremony room, with applause and cheers from their guests.
Didsbury House Hotel Wedding Reception
After the ceremony Anna, Glenn and their guests enjoyed some reception drinks in the garden area. The weather was a little drizzly, BUT the garden area has covers that come across and provide shelter. This is a great idea, especially for weddings in the UK – we all know what our delightful British weather is like. It meant that the guests were still able to enjoy being outdoors, whilst being sheltered.
During a break in the rain, Daniel Lloyd (their photographer) and I took the opportunity to grab some portrait shots. Luckily we had plenty of time to get the family shots, as well as some of Anna and Glenn.
It was then time for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Anna and Glenn had a slightly unusual speech setup, and I liked it! They did their speeches on the entrance staircase. It was really different to the normal speech setup, and gave me a bit of a new challenge. I set up a couple of lights at the bottom and top of the stairs, and it looked great.
A fantastic evening of celebrations followed the speeches. I’d like to thank Anna and Glenn for booking me to capture their day, and I hope they have an incredible future together.
