Alison & Luke’s Moat House Wedding
The Moat House, in Acton Trussell, is the location of my very first wedding, way back in 2013. I always love going back to the Moat House as it’s essentially where Vision Wave Weddings began this journey.
Today’s wedding was the wedding of Alison and Luke, and after chatting with Alison so many times during the pandemic, it was fantastic to finally be able to spend the day with them. I began the day with bridal preparations – Alison was already at The Moat House, where she was being beautified by Emma Shackleton. I’ve worked with Emma on numerous occasions over the years, and it’s always lovely to bump into her. Emma was actually the legend behind my hair and make up for my own wedding day!
Alison was super excited, and so were we! Bridal preparations are always such a lovely start to the day. It was soon time for Luke to arrive so I ran down and said hello. I spent my time running between Luke and the guests (who were also beginning to arrive) and Alison and her bridesmaid.
The Moat House Wedding Ceremony
Alison and Luke opted to have their entire day at the Moat House. I am a big fan of weddings being in one location all day, as I think it makes for a much more relaxing day, with less rushing around. The ceremony room at the Moat House is huge, with windows adorning one side of the room – making it very light and airy.
Alison and Luke had a lovely ceremony, and it was a pleasure to see them exchange vows and become husband and wife! Everyone was over the moon for them.
The Moat House Wedding Reception
After the ceremony it was time for the drinks reception. Most importantly though was the confetti shot. I lined all of the guests up on either side of the doorway, and asked Alison and Luke to make their way outside, through the flurries of confetti. Alison had the biggest smile on her face, because waiting at the end of the confetti line were their beloved Basset Hounds, Luna and Harry. It’s always lovely to see pets joining the pawrents on such a special day. I think more dogs should be allowed at weddings!
Luna and Harry stayed with us for a few paw-traits (haha), and a bit of a fuss off mum and dad. It was then time for Alison and Luke to chill, and enjoy their time with their family and friends. Everyone enjoyed drinks and canapés, and before long it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
The speeches were wonderful. Alison’s dad did a fantastic job of highlighting some rather humorous moments in Alison’s life; much to the delight of all of the guests. We were even treated to a very special speech from Alison and Luke’s nephew, who did an absolutely wonderful job for such a young age!
Alison and Luke put together a wonderful wedding day, and I’m sure they’ll treasure the memories of the day for the rest of their lives. It was a pleasure to capture the day for them, and I hope they have an amazing life together.
